Privacy Policy

Tone is a Chrome extension and web service, built by Saarit Solutions, that rewrites a LinkedIn post or comment draft you're already writing into three tone variants (Professional, Casual, Bold), and can suggest and draft new post ideas based on your own past posts. This page describes exactly what data that involves.

Short version: Tone reads the draft text in the specific post or comment box you click a button on, and — only on pages that are your own profile or your own Activity feed — the text of your own past posts and your own headline/About section, used solely to personalize "New post idea" suggestions. We never read anyone else's profile, posts, connections, or messages, and we never read your browsing history outside linkedin.com. We don't sell or share your data, and there are no ad trackers anywhere in the extension or on this site.

1. What the extension can see

Tone's content script only runs on linkedin.com pages. It activates in two ways:

When you click "✨ Rewrite with Tone" or "✨ New post idea" next to a post or comment editor, it reads the text currently in that one editor box.
When you're on your own Activity feed or your own profile page, it reads the text of your own past posts and your own headline/About section — never anyone else's, even if their content also appears on the same page (e.g. in your feed). This is stored only in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) and is used solely to personalize the topic suggestions and drafts "New post idea" generates; it's included in a request to our server only at the moment you click "New post idea" or "Generate".

Neither path reads any other tab, your browsing history, or anyone else's LinkedIn profile, posts, connections, or messages.

2. What we collect, and why

3. Third parties we rely on

Anthropic — generates the rewritten variants from your draft text. Text sent to Anthropic's API is not used to train their models and is retained only briefly for abuse monitoring under their standard commercial API terms, not indefinitely.
Razorpay — processes your payment. We never see or store your card details; Razorpay handles that directly and passes us only your email and a payment reference ID.
LinkedIn — only if you use the optional "Sign in with LinkedIn" button, your authorization code is exchanged with LinkedIn's own servers (via our backend) to retrieve your name, email, and profile photo. We never see or store your LinkedIn password.
Cloudflare — hosts the backend service the extension talks to.

4. Permissions the extension requests

Tone's Chrome permissions are limited to what the features above need: storage (to save your license key and any scraped context on your own device, via chrome.storage), identity (to support the optional "Sign in with LinkedIn" button, using Chrome's standard OAuth flow), and host access to linkedin.com and our own backend domain. It does not request access to any other site, your tabs, your browsing history, or your downloads.

5. Data retention and deletion

Draft text is never written to our database — it passes through our server to Anthropic's API and back, and that's it. License and account data (email, plan, usage count) is kept for as long as your license is active, plus a reasonable period for billing records afterward. Email contact@saaritsolutions.com at any time to have your license record deleted. Your scraped past posts, profile headline/About text, and LinkedIn Sign-In identity fields never reach our servers to begin with — they live only in your browser's local extension storage, and are removed the moment you uninstall the extension or clear its storage yourself.

6. Children's privacy

Tone is not directed at, and is not knowingly used by, children under 16.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that meaningfully affects what we collect or how we use it, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
